Welcome to the 2022 Harrier Season 

Its that time of the year when the clock goes back that we know Harriers is about to start – Our first day is this Saturday (2nd April) starting with the Laurie Carter Pairs Race – get teamed up with one of the juniors then set off on a course heading in the opposite direction to one another … hand over the baton turn and head back to the start , meeting your partner and crossing the finish. Be great so see you there .

This is the last event requiring Vaccine Pass – from Monday 4th this will no longer be a requirement for events or gatherings. So we are able to welcome ALL our members back for the new season.
Waterfront Half Marathon – this is also the Auckland 1/2 marathon Championship . If you are running please register your intent with the centre office so they can track your results. office@athleticsauckland.co.nz. You will need to be CLUB registered for the new season to qualify, registrations are now open – head to our web site for information and to sign up…https://glenedenrunners.org.nz/applications/
We do have a fund to help with expenses/registration for members that need some assistance that represent the club at events. If you need any info about this give me a call. 021501934. Or speak to a coach or manager.

Juniors we post on our Facebook Page – Glen Eden Kids Running with Monday and Wednesday being your training nights from 5pm. 
(Over 15s) From Wednesday the 6th April we will meet down the club for our Wednesday Pack Run we will be leaving at 6:30ish , bring lights and your light belt or a reflective top.
The spin the wheel will roll over from last year as we didn’t have the opportunity to get through all the draws – so if you prepaid you will be in the draw .
Prizegiving for 2021 – will let you know soon .

When coming into the clubrooms – We will do our best to keep every one as safe as possible , please do what you can too . Keep a bit of personal space .Sanitize your hands . Face mask when you can. Dont come if you are feeling unwell , or if you have any doubt and your already there , hang outside.

The committee meets once a month and we are always welcoming of new members with ideas to make our club be the best it can be. This year your committee members are

Welcome to the 2022 Harrier Season April Update 

We warmly welcome you to another fun packed Harrier season and thank you so much for running with us in 2021. We find ourselves in another year where Covid-19 may impact our club events and we have great processes in place to keep all our club members safe. The club follows the guidelines set out by the council (we lease our clubrooms from them) Athletics Auckalnd and New Zealand (we are affiliated to both). Our Handbook is available for more information.

LAURIE CARTER PAIRS RACE Saturday 2nd April at 2pm – this is run from the club rooms Sign up on the google form and arrive in plenty of time to be paired with another runner and race. The first pair back to the club are the winners.! Make sure you wear your club uniform.

Date: Sunday 10th April 

Venue: Auckland Waterfront 

Entries and Event Info: The Championships are being held as part of the 2022 Mizuno Waterfront Half Marathon Championships. Website https://waterfronthalfmarathon.co.nz/ For this event you must be registered with the club and run in club uniform to be eligible. 


At the time of writing we are unsure of the format of this race. There is no cost to enter as the club pays the entry fee for each team. We are collecting names of people who are wishing to participate and we will keep you posted. We usually have to confirm teams the wednesday prior to the competition. 


The Auckland Cross Country Series will be starting with the first GP on May 14th – (entry is not open yet)

We will of course be sending out reminders for events closer to the time. Keep up to date on Facebook and also on our web page. Any questions please do not hesitate to email us, this is your club!
